NOC Letter from Employer for Visa Application (UAE) – Template & Tips
What a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or employment letter must contain for Schengen, UK and other visa applications, with a ready-to-edit template for your HR team.
Almost every embassy asks UAE employees for a letter from their employer – often called an NOC (No Objection Certificate) or employment letter. It proves you have a job to return to, which is one of the strongest "ties" in your application.
What the letter must include
- Company letterhead with address, phone and trade licence details
- Date of issue (recent – ideally within the last 30 days)
- Addressed to the embassy / consulate of the country you are visiting
- Your full name, passport number and nationality
- Job title and date of joining
- Monthly salary (and allowances, if relevant)
- Approved leave dates and confirmation you will resume work afterwards
- Statement that the company has no objection to your travel
- Name, title, signature and company stamp of the authorised person (usually HR)

Common mistakes
- Salary in the letter doesn't match bank statement credits
- Leave dates don't match flight bookings
- Missing stamp or signature
- Generic "To whom it may concern" when the embassy expects it addressed to them
Business owners and freelancers
If you own a company, provide your trade licence and a letter on company letterhead signed by you as owner/partner. Freelancers provide their freelance permit and contracts or invoices.
