Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC): How to Fill It In Before You Fly
Most visitors to Thailand must complete the TDAC online before arrival. When to submit it, what information you need, and common mistakes to avoid.
Thailand replaced its paper arrival form with the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). Whether you travel visa-free or with a visa, you will most likely need to submit it online before you arrive.
Who needs the TDAC?
Most foreign nationals entering Thailand by air, land or sea – including visa-exempt travellers. Thai citizens and certain transit passengers who do not pass immigration are exempt.
When should I submit it?
Submit it within 3 days before your arrival (including the day of arrival). You cannot submit it weeks in advance, so set a reminder.
What you need
- Your passport details
- Flight number and arrival date
- Your accommodation address in Thailand
- Your email address
- Basic health declaration information
Step by step
- Go to the official TDAC website of the Thai Immigration Bureau (it is free – avoid sites that charge a fee).
- Fill in your personal, travel and accommodation details.
- Check that your passport number and name exactly match your passport.
- Submit and save the confirmation (a QR code or reference is sent to your email).
- Keep it on your phone – immigration may ask to see it.
Watch out for fake sites. The official TDAC is free. Websites that charge "processing fees" are not required.
Common mistakes
- Submitting too early (more than 3 days before arrival)
- Typos in passport number or name
- Using a hotel address that doesn't match your booking
Do I still need a visa?
The TDAC is not a visa. Check whether your passport is visa-free for 30 days or needs an e-Visa in our Thailand visa guide, or let us handle your Thai visa.
